Simple Ways to Connect With Parents

You may have heard (ad nauseam!) that, statistically, parents are the number one influencer in a young person’s faith life.*  But how can we practically, and effectively connect with a wide variety of parents, all of whom are busy?

* “The teens who consider themselves the most religious come from homes in which faith is important to the parents, who attend church regularly. These teens have good relationships with their parents, who they believe love them, understand them, and pay attention to them” and “Just 1% of teens ages 15 to 17 raised by parents who attached little importance to religion were highly religious in their mid-to-late 20s. In contrast, 82 percent of children raised by parents who talked about faith at home, attached great importance to their beliefs and were active in their congregations were themselves religiously active as young adults, according to data from the latest wave of the”  (National Study of Youth and Religion, 2005)
