Watch The Youth Ministry Mindset Podcast on YouTube or listen on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.

In this special bonus episode of The Youth Ministry Mindset Podcast, a limited series with voices from Alpha and YDisciple, Joshua, Annie, and Jordan continue talking with Jason Ballard and Ben Woodman about creating successful small groups. Join us as we continue the conversation on what youth ministry could look like in a post-COVID world.

Small groups are crucial but can be difficult. By pausing along the way for discussion, we empower people who are not experienced small group discussion facilitators to be trained in a way that makes them better. We open opportunities for different points of view.

Use the small group tool to start and continue the conversation. Not everyone can give talks, but everyone can ask what people think.

Also, we can train the youth to lead these groups. By putting ownership in the hands of the students, we raise leaders. We pair them with an adult leader to create teamwork.

The goal is to evangelize through empowering others. So we learn to ask questions they encounter outside the classroom.

Jesus sends out disciples but is still with them through the Holy Spirit. There is something about being invited into the mission that deepens our faith. The Church today needs to still participate in that mission.
